First team perfect start

It's been a perfect start to the season for the first team as they followed up their opening league win at Dowlais with a home defeat of Risca.

The visitors made the Bwl work hard for their win, Risca battling hard until the final whistle.

Joseph Williams crossed for the opening try of the game following a penalty for either side, Dion McIntosh kicking the Bwl's penalty.

A converted try edged the visitors ahead before a second penalty for McIntosh restored the Bwl's lead. A second Reisca coverted try put them back ahead.

Jospth Williams tore apart the visitors defence for his second try which McIntosh converted to give the Bwl the slenderest of leads at the interval (18 points to 17)

The visitors opened the scoring after the break for their third converted try. And the Bwl's task was made the more difficult whenm the visitors opted for uncontested scrummages, denying the home pack who were having the upper hand of their opponents valuable possession.

Newcomer Jack Griffiths put the Bwl back in the driving seat with a try, converted by McIntosh. And fellow newbie scrum half Jamie Hill secured the Bwl's bonus point. McIntosh converted and later added his third penalty.

Risca grabbed a late try to earn themselves a consolation bonus point.
