Ynysybwl are on the road to Caerleon RFC this Saturday afternoon as we return back to Swalec Division One East action this weekend.
We started the campaign brightly with three bonus point wins in a row but a run of two succesive league defeats was halted with a Swalec Plate win last weekend. In contrast, Caerleon have also made a respectable start to their new season having won three games and their only two defeats have come against Rhydyfelin and Nelson, the two sides occupying the top two positions in the league table.
Our trip down the M4 to The Broadway will no doubt be a competitive one and a tough task awaits but confidence is high in the camp and the boys will want to ensure the hard work in training transfers to match day on Saturday. We will need to be at our very best to get back to winning ways in the league.
In other Saturday fixtures, we welcome all representatives of the Ystrad Rhondda Seconds and Youth teams to the Recreation Ground to take on the Yetties and Calves.
All games kick off at 2.30pm. First XV score updates will be live on our Twitter page.
On Sunday, Ynysybwl RFC hosts a veterans charity match between a Valley Select XV and Malpas with all proceeds going to the British Legion. Kick Off 2.30pm.
Also, our Ladies are back in league action at Gwernyfed Ladies. Kick Off also at 2.30pm. Our ladies came away with a share of the spoils at Penybanc Panthers last time out around a fortnight ago with a 17-17 draw and will be making every effort to continue with their fine start to their Division 1 season.
